I actually started the landing for the jump out of the 360 berm a couple of days ago. I'm not doing long digging sessions on it, it's just humid and hot out there right now. I am not digging for more than 1 hour at a time. The lip is about 4.5 feet tall with a long transition so it'll be a longer jump. The landing itself at the base it 6 feet wide and hopefully I can put up with building it long enought that I can make it a foot taller than the take off. I'm having some personal difficulties trying to figure out where to get the dirt from. I want to dig after the landing, but that means that I have to start the next lip and I don't know if I'm down for that right now.

Anyways, here are some pics of some trails we rode in the DFW area. Rest In Peace.

This is a left hip out of a lloooonnnnnnggggg right hand berm. This hip was major fun. It went into a left hand berm. The lip is at the bottom of the pic and the landing has carpet on it.

Ole' PC was in the house. He knows all about San Marcos, he went to school here for a couple of years. After riding we went to Sewell Park on Campus on the river, then to the rope swing, on to the water falls and finally the place that I've been wanting to "lake jump" my bike. I did it and it was good.

BIG NEWS!!!!

I started school at Texas State University a couple of weeks ago. It feels good to be getting a "higher education". People always say it's "fun" to learn, now I don't know if it's "fun", but I do enjoy going to class. It's different from waking up everyday to drive to Austin to work at a bike shop. I feel like I'm actually getting something done, and making myself a better person.

As for the trails, there has been some big happenings as of late. Turnando came down and rode with me a couple of weeks ago while he was in Austin to ride. He was the first person besides myself that has ridden there. It was nice to ride with another person, rather than by myself run after run after run. We talked about some things/changes that I had been thinking about doing, but was too lazy to actually start them. So I did it, and now between the 3rd and 4th set is "bowled" out, so there is no flat spot any longer. I went about 1 foot down, so each jump is 1ft taller.

The 270 berm is no longer a 270, it's a full 360 degree berm. There is a double that jumps into it, where the landing is a step up and is the actual berm. It's tricky. I have only landed smooth once, and the other times I over jumped it, hence me making it a step up instead of a normal double. The exit out of the berm goes between the lip and landing of the double going into it and I just smoothed it out after I got out of class before I came home.

I'll take the camera and snap some photos of these changes today, and post them up in the next entry.

Take care,

KH
