Not too much new stuff happening. I hope to have the new line built and ready to pack within the next couple of days. The weather has been too awesome to dig. What I mean by that is this. Since the weather is so nice out (sunny, 5 to 10 mph breeze and 70 degrees) there have been a handful of people just "strolling" through the trails either by themselves or with their kids and granparents. They just let the kids climb over every jump while I sit there and look at them. They ask if the trails were designed and built by the city, so I have to explain to them that there are only a "couple" of builders (actually it's just me, but I won't tell them that) and that I have to water and sweep every jump apx. every 2 days because the dirt falls off from people walking on them and not doing basic maintenance before riding. Essentially I'm trying to get across that they have just created another 30 minutes of work for me by telling their kids to crawl on the jumps.
However, I have done some digging but not much. People come strolling through, about every 45 minutes and I throw the shovel into some brush and just start walking. I did this a couple of weeks ago, the people began yelling at me so I just kept walking. Then they shouted "San Marcos Police Department! Stop! Don't run!". So I turned around and started walking towards them while they were running towards me. He asked why I was running and put my hands behind my back and handcuffed me. They asked for my i.d. and if I had any narcotics on me or if I had ever done any narcotics. Long story short, I told them I ride my bike out there, was looking at the trails to see what kind of shape they were in because I wanted to ride later. They then told me that a lady from the park called them because she saw me walk into the woods. After we talked for 10 minutes and got everything figured out they told me that I "shouldn't ride by myself" and that was it. So now I'm really jumpy when I see or hear somebody walking back there and I'm digging. They didn't say that I can't ride or build though, so I guess that kills everything Ranger Rangel said.
Hopefully I can have this new line done and the pump track finished within 2 weeks (beginning of March). If I hadn't have started this new line the pump track would be done. The only reason I haven't done any work to it is because this guy Brandon kind of laid it out and has a blue print in his head of what he wants and I don't want to mess it up. That wouldn't happen, but he's been sick and hasn't been out to dig in over 3 weeks so I'm about to begin finishing the thing.
That is all I have.
