That's how long it's been since I have been on here. A couple things have changed. Pete graduated, so now I'm working by myself. We didn't get out there too much last semester, but when we did, stuff got done. Trying to build new stuff and maintain what two people built by myself is very time consuming.
Towards the end of the semester we didn't go out there for 5 weeks. We heard that multiple people were going out and riding. Sometimes there were as many as 10+ people from what I was told. That's all fine and dandy, but they thought that Timber was theirs to have because the weeds were tall and the path was over grown. Not to mention the fact that some trees had fallen and golf balls were on the line.
I met a couple of the people and asked who tore down the step down. They said a couple people, but no names. The next day I went out and put a nice big roller where the step down was and made the pit after it a little deeper. It's much easier, faster and it does flow better. But the step down was difficult and put there to keep people that can't ride very well from messing up anything after it.
Those people got their 3 weeks of "building" trails and have yet to come back. One guy even started a loop, but hasn't even tried to finish it. I've tried to get the new line going that I started in January, but haven't had the time or help. Oh, and I got poison ivy working on it also. Due to that and summer school I haven't been able to make it out for over 2 weeks....until yesterday. I scraped the pits and did some clearing before making 2 runs through the line. It was really good eventhough the area is covered with 6 foot tall weeds.
If anybody wants to ride, leave comment or email me and I can let you knowif it's running or not. I'm taking "applications" for people who would want to help me with up-keep and building new lines. If it works out, you could consider yourself a "local".
